SOCAN hosts ‘Sips for Sustainability’ in Ashland
ASHLAND, Ore. – An Ashland nonprofit is bringing climate change activists together to connect and learn. Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN) advocates for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and promotes awareness about the science, causes, and consequences of climate change.
Its third annual ‘Sips for Sustainability’ fundraiser on Thursday paired live music and wine with conversations about activism. Oregon Representative Pam Marsh and State Senator Jeff Golden made appearances as guest speakers. The event included fine wine from local wineries, a communal painting project, entertainment by Mountaintop Sound, and a silent auction.
