MEDFORD, Ore. — Wildfires spark in Northern California and Southern Oregon every year. Although everyone living in the region expects them, not everyone understands why fires seem larger each fire season.

Alan Journet, Co-facilitator of Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN) will speak on Thursday, March 24th for Medford’s Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Planning session. Based on his research of wildfire trends in Oregon, he attributes “mega” fires to the unique Mediterranean climate the state has by nature.
