As the opponents of clean energy and a livable future for the planet spread their misinformation and lies to kill Oregon’s effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the 2019 legislative session, across the nation and the globe, emissions reductions are being achieved. In the movie “Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution,” Filmmaker James Redford embarks on a colorful personal journey into the dawn of the clean energy era as it creates jobs, turns profits, and makes communities stronger and healthier across the US. Reaching well beyond a great story of technology and innovation, “Happening” explores issues of human resilience, social justice, embracing the future, and finding hope for our survival.
As an antidote to the depressing news of the 2019 Oregon legislative session, the SOCAN Monthly General Meeting will present the movie “Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution.” The movie shows what can and is being done to avert the disaster that global warming and its climate change consequences will wreak on Oregon, the nation, and the planet unless we take it seriously and respond accordingly.
The movie will be shown between 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Tuesday July 30th at the Medford Public Library. Like all SOCAN meetings, this will be free and open to the public.
