Electric Landscaping Tools: All You Need to Know

Source: CA Air Resources Board
Are you looking for landscaping tools that get the job done efficiently — without contributing to climate change? Do you worry about storing gas in your garage? Are gas-powered leaf blowers wreaking havoc on your ears — and your sanity? Is Ashland Parks & Recreation increasing the use of electric landscaping tools? And are you up on the rules about using gas-powered equipment in fire season?
Switching off gas-powered tools has been identified as an essential step in reaching our climate goals. To help us move forward to tackle this challenge, we’re bringing together a diverse panel of local voices to share firsthand experiences, explain the current electric options, and talk about city plans and policies around gas-powered, plug-in, and battery-electric tools.
Presenters: Sean Sullivan, Executive Assistant, Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission; Ron Adams, Ashland resident and electric tool user; Kate Emard, Co-owner, Ashland ACE Hardware; and Chris Goodale and Rylan McCommons, electric landscaping equipment specialists, Ashland ACE Hardware.
