The No LNG Exports Coalition is organizing a day to rally on the Capitol steps in Salem against the export of Liquefied Natural Gas and the transport of natural gas through the Pacific Connector Pipeline.
Oil Change International and the No LNG Exports Coalition will be releasing a groundbreaking report on the total lifecycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions of the project from fracking to burning. People from all over Oregon and northern California will come together for a rally on the Capitol Steps at 12:30 pm and then have meetings with their legislators about why their communities are standing up to stop this project.
Here’s a draft email, facebook event, and stay tuned for a social media toolkit that will have example posts for social media about the Greenhouse Assessment.
If built, the Pacific Connector Pipeline and Jordan Cove LNG Export Terminal would become the largest source of climate pollution in Oregon, in addition to undermining action to meet our climate goals and transition to renewable energy by increasing the availability of fracked gas.
The Governor and her State Agencies have the authority to deny permits and stop this project. We need Governor Kate Brown to stand up for the climate and stop this project for good.
