Enjoy the cheers of an appreciative crowd: Join SOCAN in the Parade
SOCAN will walk (and bicycle) in the July 4th Parade with a focus on Coral as a messenger of things to come.
We will also have a SOCAN booth at the Celebration at Lithia Park in Ashland where we will make Southern Oregonians aware of SOCAN and provide information about the issues and our projects.
Put on your orange SOCAN shirt and join us!! (Other groups who share climate change/global warming concerns are welcome to wear their group’s shirt and join us.) An excellent and fun way to show your concern.
July 4th Parade
We will line up for the parade between 8:30 at 9:30 am. To find us, go to the corner of Siskiyou and Liberty in Ashland and start walking up the hill on Liberty. Watch for the “SOCAN” banner and Orange SOCAN shirts.
The first entries leave the staging area around 10 am. Our departure time depends on how far we are from the corner of Siskiyou and Liberty (we’ll try to be close).
The parade covers a distance of less than one mile.
Consistent with the requests of the organizers to not leave a trace, we will not hand out papers or candy.
Parking can be a problem so please allow extra time to park and walk to find us.
July 4th Booth
We will set up the booth between 7:30 and 9:00 am. We need volunteers from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm (mostly 11 am to 4:30) to staff the booth. Shifts will be 7:30-9:00 (includes set-up), 9-11, 11-1, 1-3, 3-4:30 (includes break-down)
Sign up to help at the booth. (if you have a time preference, note them under comments)
