The June 23rd 1:00 pm meeting of the SOCAN County and City Project will feature a presentation from Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) Land Use and Transportation Planner Cody Meyer on the Climate Friendly and Equitable Communities plan and how it will affect communities in the region.
The Department of Land Conservation and Development has developed a plan to promote equitable achievement of Oregon’s climate goals. The rules target Metropolitan Planning Organization areas exceeding 50,000. This plan therefore includes the Medford area, from Eagle Point through White City, Central Point to Ashland and incorporates Jacksonville. Another Metropolitan area included is Grants Pass and rural communities through the Applegate Valley such as Cave Junction Selma, Williams, Kerby, O’Brien, Takelma.
Following the presentation, the current City Action Team leaders will provide a brief summary of their team’s work.
