On September 20th, millions of people of all ages around the world will walk out of their classes, jobs, and homes as part of a Global Climate Strike. Taking place three days before the UN Climate Action Summit in NYC, it’s destined to be the largest worldwide event ever as global citizens unite to call for climate action now. And the action will continue throughout the week.

Rogue Valley Youth-led Walkouts
Youth members of the Rogue Climate Action Team are actively planning walkouts from multiple schools in Ashland, South Medford, and across the Rogue Valley.
Unite for Climate Action
noon-3:45 pm. Butler Bandshell, Lithia Park, Ashland
Organized by Lorrie Kaplan & Barret O’Brien
Immediately following the youth rally in the Ashland Plaza, the climate action strike will migrate to Butler Bandshell, Lithia Park.
Join us for a community picnic and a day of joy and creativity to demonstrate that we share the concerns of our local students and are with them in this transformative effort to address climate change. Under the creative direction of Barret O’Brien, enjoy a program of music, uplifting presentations, poetry, group art, spiritual centering for climate healing, and information on opportunities for taking personal and community action. Join with us to celebrate our beautiful planet and be inspired and energized to continue to build a sustainable future. Food trucks will also be available, or BYO picnic with your own plates, cups, and utensils. Our goal is a zero-waste event.
