Chris Dunn, Research Associate, Forest Engineering, Resources & Management at OSU will give a presentation on this subject as part of the KS Wild Summer Speaker Series
Join KS Wild and fire experts to talk about the role of fire in our ecoregion. Explore the inner and outer workings of fire impacts to the landscape in an era of climate change.
According to Professor Dunn’s research on the 2013 Douglas Complex fire, “intensively managed private forestlands tended to burn with greater severity than older state and federal forests. The findings are important because they point to the need for collaboration among landowners, both public and private, to reduce the wildfire risk across the region.”
