The January meeting will feature a screening of the film “Kiss the Ground.” This 84 minute documentary from 2020 is narrated by Woody Harrelson presenting the benefits of soil regeneration and its effect on agriculture and solving the climate crisis. This will be followed by a 30 minute discussion that will provide an opportunity for you to share your thoughts.
Soil health is an important part of regenerative agriculture, which was a topic of two of our presentations earlier this year, one by Ann Schmierer in February and the other by Kathleen Dickson in July, and one in 2020 on permaculture by Mark Gautreaux.
Bill Gorham just finished a two-day Climate Realty Project seminar on many aspects of regenerative ag including soil health, which was very informative, extremely detailed, thought provoking, and positively energizing. Bill will incorporate this experience as he leads the discussion following the film.
Coastal SOCAN meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday at 5:30. Meetings are currently via Zoom, but we hope that a transition to a hybrid format with an in person option at SWOCC Curry Campus and via Zoom will be available soon.
