Coastal SOCAN – Climate Change Action Meeting

September 25, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The September meeting of Coastal SOCAN will focus on Oregon’s South Coast Watersheds. Miranda Gray, South Coast Watershed Council Coordinator, will discuss how a watershed is an area of land that ‘sheds’ rainfall and snowmelt to a main river, stream or creek. She will share how projects are conducted to restore or enhance the waters and lands for fish, wildlife and native plants in their areas. She will also discuss how climate change affects on our watersheds.

Miranda received her M.Sc. Degree in Environmental Science and Policy. She also received the Wilburforce Fellowship in Conservation Science which is a year long program that gives participants tools to bridge the gap between Science and Communication. Recently Miranda organized the “Cherish the Chetco” event with multiple partners. She can be reached at miranda.gray@currywatersheds.org

Coastal SOCAN meets monthly on the 4th Wednesday at the Chetco Community Public Library at 5:30.
