
Jason Busch is Executive Director of the Pacific Ocean Energy Trust (POET), an organization that supports the responsible development of marine energy and decarbonization of the maritime sectors. Mr. Busch also is active with a number of organizations, including the Marine Energy Council, Offshore Wind California, and the Renewable Hydrogen Alliance.
Jason will be discussing the content and the background of the Bureau of Ocean Management and Oregon Department of Energy’s recent feasibility reports on proposals for two areas of Floating Offshore Wind installations near Coos Bay and Brookings. He’ll be covering POET’s ongoing research on the state of the technology, environmental impacts, the costs and complexities of the proposal as they relate to coastal communities, potential for economic renewal in the Port of Coos Bay, and the potential for significant carbon drawdown achieved through this significant potential source of renewable energy.
