Ashland Climate Change Youth Challenge

March 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Come hear what Ashland Teens are thinking about climate change.  The 4th event of the Ashland Youth Climate Challenge is taking on some surprising topics:  How supporting women globally is a key and how a closer look at love can empower us.  This month we will address a tough transition that needs to get moving:  The transportation sector.   It’s happening this Saturday, March 9, from 11 to 12:30 pm, at the Unitarian Church (87 Fourth Street in Ashland).    These community presentations spring out of a new class taught by Jim Hartman at Ashland High School:  Climate Change Solutions.

We have two special guests this time.  James Stephens, president of Southern Oregon Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Association (SOHEVA) will talk about buying electric cars.  Our second guest speaker will be a member of Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN), who will give an update on Oregon’s Clean Energy Jobs Bill (HB2020).

Enjoy a light snack, hot drink and conversations afterwards.

This is not a community forum, but a chance to hear what our young people have to say plus to give key players in our community a chance to be heard. Support our youth by attending and listening to what they have to share!

This month’s Ashland Climate Change Youth Challenge is supported by the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Southern Oregon Climate Action Now.
