January Challenge: How to personally reduce one’s emissions from the goods and services we buy

[Organized by Ashland High School Students enrolled in Jim Hartman’s Climate Change Solutions course]

Presentations from 3 to 4:30. Bring some food to share and enjoy a low carbon dinner and follow-up conversations from 4:30 to 6:00

 Special Speaker: Alli French of Talent Maker City.

Student speakers:

  • Grace Schroder – Greenhouse gas emissions connected with the goods and services we buy, which is the largest fraction of all of our emissions (at 22%).
  • Orion Glover – Key takeaways from the recent international climate conference in Poland.
  • Hailey Carroll – Happiness –  It’s crucial that we find away to be happy while we are tackling this tough issue.

A special 3-minute video by Greta Thunberg, age 15, You Are Stealing Our Future

This month’s music by Angel Padilla, who will treat us to some traditional Mexican folk music.

This is not a community forum, but a chance to hear what are young people have to say plus to give a key player in our community a chance to be heard. Support our youth by attending and listening to what they have to share!
