2020 ASHLAND CLIMATE VOTER PROJECT

In the run-up to the November 2020 elections, the Ashland Climate Action Project built on the findings of our Summer 2020 report on local climate attitudes to launch the 2020 Ashland Climate Voter Project. The project featured a series of Zoom Candidate Events during September–one for the two mayoral candidates, one for city council seat #3 (four candidates), and a combined forum for city council seats 1 and 5 (four candidates total).  The purpose of these events was to ensure that city candidates are aware that there is a significant constituency of “Climate Voters” in Ashland who are highly concerned about climate change, and inform residents where candidates stand on climate issues and the need for local climate action.  The Candidate Zoom Events took place before a live audience and recorded for later viewing. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SOCAN does not endorse candidates. For more information contact lorrie@socan.eco.
